What to expect in your first judo class

When we say "no experience required", we really mean that! To your first class, you should wear clothes that you can freely move in, like a t-shirt with athletic shorts or jogging pants. Any clothing with large zippers or buttons can be problematic and should be avoided. You are also welcome to purchase a gi (judo uniform) from our stock right away.  Long hair should be tied back with an elastic (no metal clips, please). You will be barefoot on the tatami (mats) at all times, and shoes are removed at the door.  Although we will teach you how to fall safely on the first day, don't expect it to be anything like the attached video!  We have large crash pads (6' x 6' x 8") that you will practice falling on, and you will be paired with someone more experienced than yourself to help walk you through some basic drills.

Try your first month of judo lessons for only $25, with unlimited class access!

Remember: everyone was once a beginner.  If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 416-371-9751.  Enjoy the video!
